FIRE ALARM MAINTENANCE

Automatic fire alarm and detection systems should be maintained at least twice annually (every six months) to comply with the British Standard BS 5839 and the current fire safety legislation. A test of all detection devices and manual call points is carried out to ensure full operation, including any ancillaries such as door retaining devices, smoke vents etc. A certificate of maintenance will be issued with any remedial works required listed.

The responsible person should carry out weekly tests of the fire alarm system, recording all tests and rectifying any deficiencies.

Radcliffe Fire & Security also offer monitoring of fire alarm systems through Southern Monitored Alarm Receiving Centre.
