The fire risk assessment is an important legal requirement under The Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005.
Article 9 states that a suitable and sufficient fire risk assessment must be carried out by a competent person.
The responsible person has a duty to ensure that the assessment is carried out, up to date and actions are taken on works required in the assessment. The responsible person is usually the employer, the person in control or owner of the building, or someone designated to that role.

The starting point is to identify risks and safe escape in the event of a fire, it provides fundamental information on all aspects of fire safety from the correct extinguishers to the right category of fire alarm and necessary signage.
